Aloha Friday!

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that everyone takes it easy and looks forward to the weekend. So Kailani over at island life thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. It's all the rage..... So, here's the breakdown.... I ask a simple question and you post a comment with your answer. It's the island way. Head on over to her blog and check out the other participants in Aloha Friday!

What was your greatest accomplishment in 2008?
I'll start. In late Oct 2007, I decided enough was enough and it was time for me to take my life back. So, for the year of rest of 2007, and through 2008 I worked on me and my weight. I'm at my goal, and have lost 177 lbs now meaning that I currently weigh 1/2 of what I started at (I started at 354lbs... and I'm 5'11"). If you want to read more about it.... here is a speech I gave that gives more detail.
But... that was my greatest accomplishment. Falling in love with myself!

this is truly going to be hard to top! i have already said it, but you should be so proud of yourself... i know you are!

my greatest accomplishment of 08 would probably be starting my blog. i know it's nothing great, but for me to actually act on an idea instead of just thinking "woulda coulda shoulda" is big for me. i am proud of what i have been able to get off of my chest and out of my head and have 'met' some truly, TRULY amazing people (present company included!). i am learning a lot and growing as a person. yay!

I am STILL in awe of your accomplishment! You make me want to get off my butt and get moving. Of course, then my butt says, "Why the hell are you listening to her?! Now get me some CHOCOLATE!" And my butt is sort of scary (in oh, so many ways), so I tend to do what it says. I'm such a coward. Sigh.

That's so awesome! Congratulations!

I guess my biggest accomplishment of 2008 would be my blog. I started it with my sister in May 2008 and neither one of us knew anything about websites, etc. I had to teach myself everything about our own domain, html, statcounters, etc. It's something we do together and love and it's brought us closer together which is great since we live 400 miles apart.

Awesome and congrats on your weight loss!!! My greatest accomplishment in 2008 was getting our youngest daughter married! I planned her Turtle Bay Resort wedding from the east coast where we reside! It was nerve wracking but the hotel did a fabulous job! I'd do it all over again! Our oldest daughter is getting married this August! *sigh*

Congrats! That's an awesome accomplishment....what can I say that would make me feel what you feel???

I guess, I would have to say that I found and accepted my self-employment niche and enjoying it immensely! After always trying to do the economical thing or MLM or going with what works for others..accepting and running with creative talents that were given to me have really made life more enjoyable.

Great question! Aloha Friday!

I'm trying to think. I cannot recall anything notable that I did in 2008. I think I just did lots of little things!

Good for you, I am trying to get into better shape and exercise, and hoping for some weight loss to go along with it. I'm Type II diabetic and I also have high blood pressure related to it, already so my motivation is that I'm doing it for my daughter, so that she has a Mommy who's here and around for her for many years. I think if I thought of it as doing something for myself, I'd probably would be lazy, but when I rock my daughter and she looks up at me and tell me things like, "Mommy always come back," or, "Mommy loves me so much," it makes me want to do it for her, cause she deserves to have me around for a long time! I hope she still feels that way when she's a teenager!
